LoR Lyricists #18 - Verse for the Fauna of Runeterra
RIWAN's writers spent the week writing about their favorite fluffy (and scaly!) creatures from Runeterra! Which one's your favorite?
Drakehounds - recorded by solitaryplace
We're hunting you, and you are nearly found though earth betrays no mention of our paws. Woe, woe to those who cross the Noxian law and damn their fate unto the court of hounds. It does not matter if you make no sound, it does not matter if you never pause. You still will meet the Wolf within our jaws, you still will spill your blood on scorchéd ground. We're drakehounds, and we're eager to obey. We follow master's orders and delight in purging from this earth our feeble prey, in sparing them another turn of vise. We do not deal in death, but that's okay- blood we lap up in mercy tastes as nice. -solitaryplace
Danger noodle! - recorded by Hazy
Big space slithering snake Dragging and binding everything you take Little bitty cosmic dazzling line I hope some day you come back -Hazy
Omen Hawk - recorded by solitaryplace
Stare unblinking at the sun, yet still See the smallest movements on the ground. Hawkish eyes with portents to fulfil, Fly up high above the lands of now. See, the smallest movements on the ground Now can tell the future for those whose Hawkish eyes, with portents to fulfil, Want to know which future they should choose. Now can tell the future for those whose Foresight transcends more than I think I'd Want to know. Which future we should choose Falls more deeply than we see with eyes. Foresight transcends more, then. I think I'd Stare unblinking at the sun, yet still Fall more deeply than we see with eyes. Fly up high, lest portents are fulfilled. -IcarusPigeon
Starlight Stag - recorded by snowfire
With the wind blowing in the crisp evening night The sound of chimes and bells lights these noiseless skies A smell of brass and comfort tries to suppress the uneasiness one may have at these times The look of the tiny ones might not run away from our guise I stand tall, Shine bright, and walk with authority you'd think I'm restless A follower of Bard The Caretaker and our journey is endless. One after the other I protect the lands here While they fly around far away or always near They are keen to watch him, Zoe and Sol and he is to watch me when he gave me a soul As I stated I stand tall with might and joyous delight Don't feel alarmed or threatened by my mountain-like height With my head in the skies it's my own birthright That only I behold the name starlight -Izanami
Zephyr Sage - recorded by solitaryplace
"Look for the sage in the sky, for only he can return that which is lost to the world, but still held in memory."
Atop the highest mountain peak, where grief reaches its summit,
Another lost soul has found their way to the very top.
Mad with grief, they beg.
Bring them back, bring them back!
The Zephyr watches, hidden amongst the clouds.
Beautiful glossy feathers, the color of a sunset over aquamarine waters,
Wings large as life itself; the arcane being knows not of death nor sorrow.
One with nature, life is an endless cycle for him.
Atop the highest mountain peak, where sky meets earth,
He is lured out by profound sadness, by the wailing of shattered hearts,
By the pleas of broken souls. Named ‘the sages of the skies’,
The Zephyr attends, curious, pious.
The mighty bird emerges from his nest,
And hope surges with renewed cries and prayers.
He cannot bring back the physical bodies.
The Sage soars by, ethereal.
And the flutter of wings ruffles unkempt hair,
Gusts of warm air kiss life into cold, tear-stained cheeks,
And silky feathers caress lonely, weary skin;
Like the comforting embrace of a mother, a lover, a child.
Rekindling the waning fire,
Cleansing the sorrow-stained memories.
He needs not to do more.
But the Sage always watches the unfolding, sight sharpened by nature’s magic.
He sees spirits reuniting, their longing soothed; eyes closed since birth, opening.
Those that seek his aid now stare at the might of the world ahead, at the eternity of life.
Amongst the air, the sun rays, the wind, they find their loved ones, once thought lost.
Atop the mountain peak, where the Zephyr Sage resides,
Men had remembered love is transcendental.

They all always look up to me An honor, I can guarantee I just can't fail them, let them down Can't leave them feeling like a clown. Deep in the Freljord, awaiting Cold, fear. Feeling it all. Shaking. Don't know what is worse: dark winter Or LoR designers' card printer. They gonna take as all. Babies, Adults. I'm going mad, crazy! Don't want to be part of some game To fight my brothers, that's a shame! That's why I use mighty mustache Prepping hammer, ready to smash. Not anymore poros on board. Mighty Poro will save Freljord! -Myzrael
Me and the Shark Chariot - recorded by snowfire

The Stories Were True! -recorded by Hazy
(Coming soon!)
The stories were true! About what hides in the frozen mountains! Up there, I saw the fur! Small dots of it behind snow curtains... You could say it was a poro, Dropping some of its hair where it walks, But the claw lines weren't there before, Neither the footprints or the bite marks. Ok old geezer, you are really crazy Eat this pot, drink some booze, Take some rest, you are getting me uneasy, Stop lying, you are making a big fuss He was there frozen cold! Behind a block of ice and snow! Big teeth and a fiery face, I had to run, without leaving a trace. Haha here we go again, The yetis don't exist, and they don't "wake", Even if they did, what would you gain? And a thunderous roar woke up in the landscape! -Hazy
Starhound Pack - recorded by solitaryplace
The stars are dogged in the sky tonight though the wind howls as we do- teeth bared, nostrils flared hunting after gods to fell as we fall- inured to nothing but ourselves. -solitaryplace
Fluffy Pal - recorded by Hazy
Fluffy pal, little paws, Magical cat, with sick moves on the dancehall, Your grandma is back, Let's take a rest and caress your back. -Hazy
Come wit it now! - recorded by Hazy
The Big shadow explodes, like opening the wound, With the sure shot, Sure to make the bodies drop, Drop and roll yo', this is not a drill bro, Terror rains drenchin', quenchin' the thirst of the power dons, With the teeth on the face of a militant dropping on! That three attack strikin' like a gong! The rotten sore on the head of my units on the floor The triggers cold, attack now! Rally 'round the opponent! With a hand full of tricks! Rally 'round the opponent! With a hand full of ephemerals! SHARKS ON PARADE! Weapons not needed, not spells, not units Not need, just feed the war cannibal animal shark! I walk the corner to the rubble that used to be a man, Line up to the mind cemetery now, What we don't know keeps the contracts alive and movin' They don't gotta kill the units, they remove themselves at the end of round, While fields and hands fill as quick as the cells Rally 'round the family, hands full of flocks! Sharks on parade! Can't stop us now! Sharks on parade! What used to be a man! Now a machine, on a horse, on the mist, striking like a thunderstorm! Don't close your eyes bro! What used to be one comes in rows of fives! What is a harrowing! But a tribute to an endgame and an overkill on my behalf, Now you believe you have trouble, You just wait until I drop the killing, assassin, dagger swinging, red cyclone, never ending, striking gal. Don't get sleep, 'Cuz this is a war on the streets. Rally 'round the opponent! With a hand full of tricks! Rally 'round the opponent! With a hand full of ephemerals! Sharks on parade! Cant stop us now! Sharks on parade! Self-reviving crashing animals! -Hazy
